About

Screen Hawke's Bay has a dedicated team ready to work with your production.

We are your connection to local government, private owners and the experts in all things screen in Hawke's Bay.

We aim to create a thriving screen industry in our region.

Film Hawke’s Bay was established in 2011 as the regional film office by a group of screen industry professionals. Building on the strong foundation of film work produced in the region over the years.

In 2020 the organisation evolved into Eastern Screen Alliance and took on a focus to become more aligned with local government and work closely with the economic teams. Much has been achieved and we now have established protocols and policies formulated to ensure Hawke’s Bay is a film friendly region.

Our focus is to support all things screen from film to television, documentary to gaming. In 2025 the organisation rebranded to Screen Hawke’s Bay to reflect this shift and align nationally with other regional film offices.

Our work is to capture, support and advocate for the screen industry in our region. We are a board of professionals working alongside industry and local government to ensure filming in our region is a positive experience for all involved.

Our Work

Events, screenings, workshops...

We provide workshops periodically and celebrate work through providing events like screenings and networking. We build strong relationships with local business, producers and director/writers to build a portfolio of work to be created in Hawke’s Bay. We support our community through providing script development through our scriptwriter’s group.
